How does it work?

FVNH’s Telemedicine visits are done through the Charm Patient Portal. You must be set up in your portal before your appointment can be scheduled. If you need help with this, please call the front desk. A telemedicine appointment will be scheduled just like an in-office appointment, but instead of coming into the office, you will use your computer or other device with a camera to meet the doctor. You must have BOTH audio and video capabilities to take part in a telemedicine visit.

At your designated appointment time, you will log in to your Charm portal and the doctor will send you a visit invitation. You must agree to the conditions of the telemedicine visit, and then you will be connected with the doctor.

Telemedicine visits are usually 15-30 minutes. This can be shortened or lengthened based on the doctor’s discretion.

Cost of Telemedicine Visits

Telemedicine visits are billed to your insurance just like an in-office visit. You may have a copay for this visit. If you do not have insurance, the cash prices are as follows:

15-minute appointment: $50
30-minute appointment: $90
45-minute appointment: $125

What can Telemedicine be used for?

Telemedicine is for established patients of Fern Valley Natural Health present in Washington State at the time of the service. New patients must be seen in the office before they can take part in Fern Valley’s Natural Health’s telemedicine program. We cannot see out-of-state patients via Telemedicine.

Telemedicine can be used for:

  • Acute illness visits, such as a cough/cold, flu, eye or ear infection, sore throat, sinus infection, some injuries, etc
  • Eczema flares, rashes and other skin conditions
  • Allergies
  • Headaches or migraines
  • Anxiety or depression
  • Nutrition and weight management
  • Medication management
  • Vaccination counseling
  • Lab and imaging interpretation and review
  • Follow ups on previous treatment plans

Telemedicine should not be used for:

  • Initial patient visits
  • Prenatal visits
  • Annual or well-child exams
  • Immunization visits
  • Certain injuries
  • Patients that have not had a physical exam in over a year

What is Telemedicine?

Telemedicine involves a remote doctor visit using video and audio through a computer, tablet, or mobile device. You get to see the doctor from the comfort of your own home. The doctor can assess, diagnose and treat many conditions using telemedicine just like at a normal in-office visit. Because your doctor is unable to perform physical exam, s/he may ask you to push, pull, or move in certain ways to assist with her/his diagnosis. Telemedicine is not appropriate for all types of doctor visits.
